Central Iowa Youth Basketball was founded to provide the kids of central Iowa, and
their families, with a supportive and enthusiastic environment to have FUN.
We encourage participation, sportsmanship, competition, enthusiasm and mutual respect.
We are committed to an environment that will encourage our kids to grow and develop
to be successful, enthusiastic, and positive teenagers and adults. Parents and Coaches
remember – you set the tone!
We expect our fans to:
CHEER AND HAVE A GOOD TIME
First and foremost we are here to have FUN. We welcome our fans to enthusiastically
yell scream and cheer for their team. We believe this forms the foundation of a
great experience for the kids. But it must be POSITIVE!
SET A GOOD EXAMPLE
Coaches and Parents – you are setting the example for your children. If you set
a positive example by cheering enthusiastically for your team; so will your kids.
If you set a poor example by berating the other team or the officials; so will your
kids. BE POSITIVE!!
DO NOT
Yell negative remarks to the players.
Yell negative remarks at the officials.
These actions undermine the environment we have established and WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.
If you are negative and disruptive you will be asked to leave the gym.
